Acquire the Fire, a 27-hour conference for young people and the adults in their lives, derives its name from the unshakeable conviction that today's dark world of destruction and listlessness can be overturned by a commitment to doing the will of God. The weekend program teaches individuals interested in living as Jesus Christ did Biblical truths that have a direct bearing on their lives. Acquire the Fire provides teenagers with the tools to rise above vice and boredom and discover ways of responding to God's true calling. Moreover, Acquire the Fire offers parents and youth leaders inspiring methodologies for reaching out to children, helping them face difficulties without turning to drugs, alcohol, or other destructive behaviors.
Acquire the Fire maintains a credo that affirms a desire to grow in knowledge of the Lord and serve Him by reaching out to those who have not yet been privileged to know His Word. Participants also choose to love their neighbors and rise above their own traumatic pasts, restoring themselves to productive and fulfilling lives. Finally, they endeavor to live by Ephesians 4:1, which asks believers to obey God in all things.
Offering a number of ways for individuals to become involved in its mission, Acquire the Fire seeks people ages 17 and older to assist with conferences. Volunteers can act as ushers, sell merchandise, provide security, or offer logistics support. Those who do serve receive free food, entrance, and a T-shirt or coupon, as well as the opportunity to make a difference in young people's lives. Alternatively, church leaders can assist Acquire the Fire by organizing local events and making their facilities available to the program.
